COUNTDOWN TO THE FINISH LINE
Henderson Campaign Enters Final Stretch in Laramie City Council Ward 1 Race
LARAMIE, WYOMING — The primary is behind us. The general election is ahead.
Eric Henderson, candidate for Laramie City Council — Ward 1, is entering the final weeks of the 2026 campaign with a simple message:
Tomorrow Starts Today.
On November 3, Ward 1 voters will choose between Eric Henderson and Nicholas Jesse for one seat on the Laramie City Council.
Henderson said the remaining campaign will continue to focus on the questions facing Laramie residents: responsible growth, streets and infrastructure, housing, drainage and flooding, water security, economic development, government spending and whether taxpayers are receiving measurable value when public dollars are committed.
“This campaign has never been about telling people what they should think,” Henderson said. “It has been about listening, asking questions, showing the numbers and giving Ward 1 residents a voice in the decisions that affect their homes, neighborhoods and pocketbooks.”
Henderson said the campaign's closing stretch will emphasize direct conversations with voters.
“Every vote has to be earned,” Henderson said. “I intend to spend these final weeks listening to the people of Ward 1 and making the case for how I would represent them on City Council.”
Henderson has emphasized an infrastructure-first approach to growth, greater scrutiny of taxpayer-supported development incentives and a basic standard for major city decisions:
Is it necessary? Is it fair? What does it cost? Who pays? What services will it require? What is the impact on the people already living here — and have we listened to them?
The November election is not simply the conclusion of a campaign, Henderson said. It determines who will occupy one of Ward 1's three seats at the council table for the next four years.
The finish line is November 3.
Until then, Henderson says the work continues — one conversation, one neighborhood and one voter at a time.
