Campaign priorities

Clear questions.Thoughtful decisions.

Transparency, responsible growth and a strong local economy guide my campaign. Each begins with listening to the people a city decision will affect.

01 · Transparency

Show the numbers. Explain the value.

Public dollars deserve careful questions. I want greater scrutiny of government spending and taxpayer-supported development incentives, including whether those commitments deliver measurable value.

Before a major decision, we should understand what it costs, who pays and how the benefits and burdens reach residents.

02 · Responsible growth

Put infrastructure first.

Growth brings questions about housing, streets, drainage and flooding, water security and the services a development will require.

My approach is infrastructure first: consider those needs alongside growth, and listen to the people who already live here about the effects on their neighborhoods.

03 · A strong local economy

Make public commitments count.

Economic development deserves a close look at both opportunity and cost. Taxpayer-supported incentives should face clear questions about necessity, fairness and value.

I want city decisions to account for the public dollars involved, the services required and the impact on existing residents.

A standard for major decisions

Work through the questions.

Is it necessary?

Start with the problem a city decision is meant to solve.

Is it fair?

Look at how the benefits and burdens reach people across the community.

What does it cost—and who pays?

Show the numbers and examine the commitment of public dollars.

What services will it require?

Consider streets, drainage, water and the infrastructure needed to support growth.

What does it mean for existing residents?

Consider the effects on the people who already call Laramie home.

Have we listened?

Hear from the people whose homes, neighborhoods and pocketbooks are affected.

It has been about listening, asking questions, showing the numbers and giving Ward 1 residents a voice in the decisions that affect their homes, neighborhoods and pocketbooks.
